Color Masterbatches

Every color masterbatch we make starts with your reference: a RAL or Pantone code, a competitor part or a physical sample. We select the pigment system for your heat history and light exposure, calibrate the carrier to your resin, and verify the shade by spectrophotometer before a single kilogram ships.

What our color masterbatches cover

  • Custom shade matching to RAL, Pantone or a customer part
  • Organic and inorganic pigment systems
  • Universal, PE and PP carriers, with engineering grades on request
  • Heat stability from 240°C to 300°C, pigment dependent
  • Light fastness up to Blue Wool 7 – 8

FAQ

Questions about color masterbatches

  • What is color masterbatch?

Color masterbatch (also written colour masterbatch) is a concentrate of pigments dispersed in a carrier resin and cut into pellets. Added to natural polymer at a small let-down ratio, it colors the finished film, pipe or part more cleanly and consistently than loose pigment powder.

  • How does AdCol match a custom color?

Send a RAL or Pantone code or a physical sample, with your base polymer, process and wall thickness. The lab calibrates the carrier to your resin, extrudes a plaque within 48 hours and verifies it by spectrophotometer to Delta-E < 0.5. Approved shades move to a 5 – 25 kg trial lot.

  • Which polymers and processes are covered?

Universal, PE and PP carriers, with engineering-polymer carriers on request, for blown film, injection and blow moulding, raffia tape and agricultural film. Heat stability runs from 240°C to 300°C and light fastness up to Blue Wool 7 – 8, depending on the pigments.

  • How is a custom color priced?

Each match is quoted per shade, carrier and end use, because the pigments and their loading set the cost. Share your shade reference, polymer and expected volume for a quote.
