Blown Film

Masterbatch for Flexible Packaging & Blown Film

Blown film runs fast and thin, so a masterbatch has nowhere to hide. Our film grades are built for clean bubbles: high-loading whites that resist lacing, slip and anti-block packs that keep reels from blocking, and coated CaCO₃ that takes cost out without hurting tensile strength.

  • Carrier & shopping bags
  • Barrier & multi-layer films
  • Laminates & liner films
  • Milk & liquid pouches
  • Garbage bags

What We Solve

The problems our grades are built for.

  • 01

    Lacing & die-lip build-up

Organic-coated rutile TiO₂ and low moisture (≤ 0.12%) keep high-speed bubbles clean.

  • 02

    Reel blocking & poor slip

Erucamide and micronized silica bring kinetic COF below 0.20 after 24 hours.

  • 03

    Opacity at low gauge

4.0% – 7.0% of MB-W70-PE delivers complete optical opacity for milk and liquid packs.

  • 04

    Raw material cost

Coated 1.5 μm CaCO₃ replaces 8% – 45% of polymer while keeping heat sealing and stiffness.

Recommended Grades & Dosage

What to run, and how much.

Let-down and addition levels are quoted from the grade TDS. Your final dosage depends on gauge, wall thickness and target properties; the let-down ratio calculator works out masterbatch and resin quantities for a batch.

Processing notes

  • Keep melt temperatures below 250°C when running slip additives to protect film clarity.
  • Erucamide migration stabilizes 24 – 48 hours after extrusion at ambient temperature.
  • Above 25% CaCO₃ loading, lower the die temperature slightly to use the compound's higher thermal conductivity.

FAQ

Questions about masterbatch for packaging & film.

  • Which white masterbatch helps prevent lacing in blown film?

MB-W70-PE: organic-coated rutile TiO₂ with moisture at or below 0.12%, which keeps high-speed bubbles clean. It runs at 1.5% – 3.5% in general packaging film and 4.0% – 7.0% for complete optical opacity in milk and liquid packs.

  • How do I stop blown film blocking on the reel?

Add a slip and anti-block masterbatch. MB-ADD-SAB combines erucamide and micronized silica to bring kinetic COF below 0.20 after 24 hours, at 1.0% – 2.0% in monolayer film, 1.5% – 3.0% in the skin layer of multilayer barrier film and 0.8% – 1.5% in lamination and liner films. Keep melt below 250°C and allow 24 – 48 hours for erucamide migration to stabilize.

  • How much CaCO₃ filler masterbatch can go into film and bags?

CP-CA80-PE is used at 15% – 45% in HDPE shopping and garbage bags and at 8% – 25% in LLDPE / LDPE packaging film, replacing polymer while keeping heat sealing and stiffness. Above 25% loading, lower the die temperature slightly.
